The boss will raise one of its legs and arms at once into the air. It will then bring down its arm and thrust it into the ground , releasing a shockwave. After a short delay, the ground will start to glow, and, as the boss pulls out its arm from the ground, the ground will explode . This attack has a huge AOE . The giant rock on its back might rattle a little before the boss is about to execute this attack.
Upon returning to a Keeper's Shrine, you'll also notice a powerful new weapon available in the crafting menu – the Epic Loongwreath Staff . However, you may find yourself missing the key ingredients, a Thunderbone and four Refined Iron Sand , to craft it.
You have to dodge just when the boss is about to hit the ground to avoid the shockwave, and then dodge again as it is about to pull its arm out. You’ll be able to avoid the explosion by dodging even if your timing is slightly off.
As a variable combo, once unlocked, Pillar Stance allows you to use Sweeping Gale. This has the destined one plant the staff ahead of them and spin around it, performing a multi-hit kick in the process. This can strike multiple enemies around you, which can help clear some space if you're being swarmed by weaker foes. After purchasing the Gale's Blessing upgrade you'll take considerably less damage while performing the spin, making it less risky to use. After unlocking Churning Gale, you can hit heavy attack again after using Sweeping Gale to perform a wide swing with an extended staff, which deals a ton of damage and tends to stagger anything it hits.
Defeating the Stone Vanguard in Chapter Two allows you to craft the Gale Guardian Armor set , in which the chest piece boosts Shock resistance . Wearing the full set also grants additional focus and reduces spell cooldowns on a Perfect Dodge , something that can be easily pulled off against Red Loong's attacks. If you dodge the initial Slam, you’ll also avoid getting hit by the shockwave. If you’re out of the slam’s range, then you’ll have to watch the shockwave and dodge it at the precise time. Avoiding this attack leaves the boss open for you to deal some damage.
This attack has slight variations , but it generally involves a tail sweep that can be avoided with a well-timed dodge roll. Just watch out for its 180-degree tail sweep , as he will retract the tail at the end, catching you off guard.
Tiger Vanguard is a difficult boss because he hits hard and has a huge variety of different attacks. However, most of his attacks follow a simple pattern. Once you’ve figured out how to dodge and recognize each attack, you can easily defeat him.
You can upgrade or acquire new drinks that ultimately add effects on top of the health restoration afforded with each drink from your gourd. The effects vary depending on what drink is equipped. These special libations include the following:
The Heart of Stone crafting material enables you to create the Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff , which is the best weapon that you can craft till Chapter 2. The staff increases your attack by 60 and your defense by 30, while also moderately increasing the damage of your charged heavy attacks from the Smash Stance .
In Black Myth Wukong Updates Myth: Wukong , you'll cling to your gourd and the healing nectar inside in order to claim victory over the gnarliest foes. Your staff will vanquish enemies , and your armor will offer protection . But the Gourd will ultimately keep you above ground in a pinch. Your gourd has a set amount of uses that can be replenished by absorbing green flame-like souls found throughout the world, or by simply resting at an incense checkpoint. You'll begin your journey with the Old Gourd which offers you 4 uses that will partially recover your health bar.
Chapter Three sees the Destined One travel to snow-capped mountains, where he meets the pig companion Zhu Bajie . Although Bajie tends to be abrasive toward the Destined One, he ends up accompanying him for much of the journey, proving to be a help in certain sequences and boss fights. Near the end of Chapter 3, the two end up trapped in a bag by the monk Yellowbrow, who is posing as his master. To defeat Shigandang, the best strategy you can follow is to just stick to its back. Stay behind it, and you will shut down half of its attacks. You’ll still have to keep an eye open for the Body Slam, Side Sweep, and Shoulder Slam attacks, but most of the time, the boss will just keep turning around to find you.
This attack is similar to the regular Body Slam, but just as the boss lands, several spikes will pop out of the ground . Shigandang’s fist will start to glow, and right as it thrusts its fists into the ground, the spikes will explode . This attack doesn’t create any shockwaves.
